Staff member completes endurance run to raise funds for Shine

A massive Well done to Mathew Bain who recently completed the Lakeland 50 in a terrific time of 21 hours 46 minutes!

The Lakeland 50 is an ultra trail run covering 50 miles of the lake district and this year 1327 people took part!

Mathew has raised an amazing £1530 for the Shine Fund, a fund which is used to enhance the lives of HICAs residents and service users. The fund has previously been use for purchasing sensory equipment such as interactive tables and VR equipment.

Mathew ran the Lakeland 50 alongside his mother after they both celebrated big birthdays this year and decided they wanted to do something crazy. He decided to raise money for the Shine Fund after previously raising money for Wilton Lodge on one of his runs several years ago.
Mathew says despite the blisters he very much intends to do the run again.

We would like to especially thank the Mathew Good Foundation for their generous donation.
