The Lodge – with Nursing
The Lodge is a specialist nursing and care home for people living with dementia. Located within the peaceful Buckshaw Retirement Village near Chorley, it provides a safe, comfortable and supportive environment. As a result, residents can enjoy a greater sense of wellbeing and belonging.
We understand that every dementia journey is different. Therefore, our care is tailored to each individual’s needs, preferences and abilities. Our experienced team is committed to delivering compassionate support at every stage.
To create the best possible environment, we worked closely with the nationally renowned Dementia Services Development Centre. Together, we developed four unique communities based on leading dementia care practices. As a result, The Lodge became the first care home to receive the Centre’s Gold Standard accreditation for dementia design.
Each community has been carefully designed to meet different levels of need. For example, some areas support people in the early stages of dementia, while others provide 24-hour nursing care for those with more complex health needs. This means residents can continue to receive the right care as their needs change over time.
The Market Square – The Heart of The Lodge
At the centre of The Lodge is the Market Square, a vibrant social hub for residents, families and friends. Here, people can relax, socialise and spend quality time together in a welcoming setting.
In addition, the Market Square offers a variety of destination spaces and activities. These areas encourage residents to stay active, engaged and connected to daily life. Furthermore, they support purposeful movement and help create meaningful experiences throughout the day.
