Overton house visiting pod!
Due to the pandemic Overton House in Cottingham has been doing window visits, allowing families to visit residents in a covid safe way, but as the weather became colder and wetter these visits became more difficult. To ensure these are able to continue, Overton House now has a visiting pod, a warm outdoor pod placed close to a window. This allows relatives to stay nice and warm and has an intercom system so as to ensure communication with the resident inside the home. Meaning no matter how bad the weather gets window visits can continue!
The pod is already proving to be very popular with families. A staff member commented on the positive feedback they have received; ‘Some have said how it has improved their experience visiting their relative, some have said it’s a risk free experience and allows them to chat to each other whilst they are both warm and secure. The pod is heated and has lighting so is really ideal for the current cold weather.’
