sm IMG_5149.jpgThe first Tour De HICA event was held at Hica head office proved to be a great success and saw many people from across the organisation taking part. The event, the brainchild of new CEO Terry Paul, saw three exercise bikes set up in the reception at Anchor Court with team members, service users and friends invited to come along and have a go on the bikes while trying to clock up 500 miles over 24 hours. The event was that successful that eventually a total of 1200 miles was clocked up. Over 100 people took part raising in excess of £3000 for the company’s SHINE Fund in the progress.

The SHINE Fund exists to make a positive difference to the lives of the people who receive services from HICA.

CEO Terry Peel said of the event, “This was a fantastic event that surpassed our expectations – not only by the amount of miles travelled but also by the amount of donations we received. It was fantastic to see our team members come together for this worthy cause. It was also fantastic to see so many service users come and have a go on the bikes and help us reach the 1200 miles.”

Trade partners Sylvester Keal, Pickerings Lifts, Reads, Global, Angel Healthcare, The One Point, Total Flooring, NEC and The Mitton Group all supported the event with donations which were gratefully received.

There is a Just Giving page that is open until 21st July for those who wish to contribute:
