NEW INITIATIVE SEES HICA CATER FOR THE TRADITIONAL SUNDAY LUNCH
The Hica group is serving up a new initiative that’s bringing back the traditional taste of Sunday for dozens of people.
Both Elm Tree Court in Hull and The Anchorage in Grimsby have teamed up with our catering partner Apetito to host a Sunday luncheon club.
The move is part of an initiative to encourage more residents and their friends and family members to come together over a traditional Sunday lunch to share memories, good times and conversation.
The club is being trialled locally at these homes and could be followed by other ones at care homes within the Hica Group if it proves popular.
Apetito, which is providing some after dinner quizzes with prizes, is also supplying the food while helping to train kitchen staff to present the meals.
One resident said: “Everyone at my table was extremely grateful and well satisfied with the lovely food. We’re really looking forward to the next one.”
Bev Milson, The Anchorage manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to link up with Apetito to provide a traditional taste of Sunday, which many of residents will remember fondly from their younger days. Everyone who attends our luncheons has a fantastic time.”
