Mobile Support Worker - Buckshaw Retirement Village, Chorley

Salary 8.85 per hour, Hours 30 - 40 Hours

HICA is a not for profit organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to the individuals who we support.

We are currently looking for Mobile Support Workers to provide care and support to residents across our services at Buckshaw Retirement Village.

Buckshaw Retirement Village provides a new concept in retirement living with distinct communities offering options for ownership and rental in an attractive and well-appointed location.  The site also houses our purpose-built, specialist dementia nursing home which has a range of on-site facilities and regular activities.

As a Mobile Support Worker, you would be working across the site providing care and support to help meet our service users’ needs whilst also promoting and encouraging their independence.

What we’re looking for:

You should have previous experience working in a care environment along with a level 2 care qualification.  Experience working within both home care and residential settings is particularly advantageous. 

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of care planning and relevant legislation as well as the ability to promote independence, person-centred care and to treat other with dignity and respect at all times. 

The ability to work independently is a must as well as being able to lead and motivate a team when required.  You should have good communication skills as well as being organised with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload. 

You will need to adapt quickly and be comfortable working in a variety of environments as shifts can take place across the site and whilst the roles are predominantly care related there may be times when you need to help out with other services.  

Flexibility is essential as these roles will cover a variety of early morning, day, evening and overnight shifts across a 7-day period.
