Rehabilitation services

hica provides a rehabilitation service for people leaving hospital.  The service is delivered by specialist care support workers, in collaboration with other healthcare providers and is very much defined by your personal choice, health needs and aspirations for recovery.  Where necessary, we will also assist with the provision of mobility equipment.

The objectives of the specially trained staff team are that clients referred to this service should benefit from an improvement in their physical and functional capabilities within six weeks.

We currently provide a domiciliary rehabilitation service at Brookside, an extra care facility in Ormskirk.  We also provide a domiciliary and residential rehabilitation service at The Grange, an assisted living community at Buckshaw Retirement Village.

The dedicated rehabilitation unit housed within The Grange offers 24 hour care and staff presence.  These 22 self-contained apartments have a kitchen/dining area, level-access ensuite wetroom and toilet and either divan or profiling beds.  Each apartment also has a TV, telephone and lifeline facility.  This facility is very much designed to promote recovery, independence and a return to improved well-being. The support of on-site physiotherapists, occupational therapists and rehab assistants five days a week, further benefits your recovery.
