Stepping Out for Charity

Sponsored-Walk-240x134.jpgA sponsored walk organised by The Lodge at Buckshaw Retirement Village has raised over £350 for Alzheimer's Disease and the Buckshaw Residents' Fund.

On a very blustery day, the enthusiastic walkers took to the streets with gloves and scarves for a round-trip meander via Tesco with a stopover at The War Horse pub. The War Horse not only provided a very welcome rest, but kindly provided free tea and coffee to set us on our way.

As well as residents, staff, family and friends, we also benefited from the company of a British Bulldog called Ruby who accompanied Sales & Marketing Manager Maria Baker along the route. Ruby quickly became the star attraction and thoroughly enjoyed all the attention.

Everyone was absolutely delighted with their day and even happier that they had been able to contribute to such a worthwhile charity.

The Lodge provides award-winning dementia care in one of the North's finest retirement villages. It is currently being extended to offer much-needed additional bedrooms.
