HICA Homes Celebrate National Recognition for Outstanding End-of-Life Care
The HICA Group is proud to announce that three of its care homes—Red House in Bridlington, Isaac Robinson Court in Hull, and Cranwell Court in Grimsby—have each received the prestigious Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award for their commitment to excellence in end-of-life care. As part of HICA, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to person-centred care, these homes have demonstrated their dedication to providing compassionate, individualized support during the final months and days of life.
This award follows nearly 18 months of comprehensive training and collaboration with GSF professionals. Teams at each location worked closely with residents, families, and healthcare partners to develop tailored care plans based on GSF’s five priorities, enhancing their end-of-life care approach to honour each resident’s unique needs and wishes. Red House achieved an impressive score of 74 out of 75, Cranwell Court scored 68, and Isaac Robinson Court earned a score of 63, reflecting their high standards.
Leah Davies, Geraldine Jones, and Sharon Long, managers and end-of-life care leads for the respective homes, each expressed immense pride in their teams’ efforts. “Receiving this award is a testament to our team’s dedication to dignified and compassionate care,” said Leah Davies of Red House. “Each day, we strive to support our residents with the utmost respect and compassion,” added Geraldine Jones from Isaac Robinson Court, and Sharon Long echoed these sentiments for Cranwell Court.
HICA Group’s CEO, Terry Peel, celebrated the homes’ achievements, stating, “At HICA, we are committed to delivering person-centred care that honours each resident’s dignity and individuality. The teams at Red House, Isaac Robinson Court, and Cranwell Court exemplify this commitment daily, ensuring our residents live comfortably and with respect until the very end. I am incredibly proud of their dedication, which has earned them this prestigious recognition.”
