A Message from Hica's new CEO.
I am extremely honoured and proud to become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the HICA group as of the 1st of April 2019. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous CEO Penni Brown and the HICA Board in having the confidence in my abilities to help continue with the HICA vision in making a true difference to the lives of the people who access our service provision. I am keen that as a ‘not-for-profit’ caring organisation, we continue this journey and whereby we become the preferred provider of outstanding care and support as well as the preferred employer within the local communities we serve and support. Having over 30 years’ experience within Health and Social Care and as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, I am extremely passionate about the care and support we offer, alongside valuing our workforce. Having the extensive awareness and a wider perspective of the key requirements that are needed to aspire to outstanding, service user focused care and support is critical. I feel it is imperative that we continue to increase the expectations and awareness of services users, families, friends, advocates and our workforce; this will aid our vision and will ultimately improve the overall choice of high-quality care and support provision available for all. The continuous improvement of standards of care and support can be further enhanced by good consultation with those who supply the direct line service provision and to those who are the key stakeholders in purchasing care and support. In addition to this, the HICA ethos and financial objectives being achieved are all crucial for true success. I will do all I can to support the passion drive and enthusiasm all the Hica and Buckshaw teams show daily in their work, without them we would not be successful. I look forward to serving as the new CEO and continuing the fantastic work of my predecessors in helping to provide a quality service that makes a difference.
