Get ready for the third Tour De HICA!

Join us for an exhilarating event on Thursday, June 22nd, as The HICA Group proudly presents the third Tour De HICA fundraising event. This exciting initiative aims to raise funds for our company’s SHINE Fund, dedicated to enhancing the lives of our service users through enriching activities, events and specialist equipment.

The event will kick off at 12 noon on the 22nd and continue non-stop for 24 hours until 12 noon the following day. In our previous 24-hour challenge, we managed to surpass expectations by raising over £1600. HICA staff, service users, their families, friends, and special guests rallied together to help us reach our goal. Together, we strived to cover an impressive distance of 1750 miles, equivalent to the iconic journey from Lands End to John O’Groats and back. Although we fell just short of our goal last time, this year we are determined to smash this goal!

We invite all staff members, friends, family, and trade partners to join us at our Head Office, located at Hesslewood Country Business Park, to help us reach new heights. Your support and participation are crucial in achieving our target. If you’re interested in taking part, please let us know by sending an email to shine@hica-uk.com. The event will commence at 12 noon and conclude 24 hours later.

Additionally, you can show your support by making a donation through our Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tdh23. Every contribution brings us closer to our fundraising objective and enables us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our service users.

Mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable event filled with camaraderie, determination, and a shared goal of improving lives. Together, we can make a difference.

To fully embody the HICA’s ideology of making a real difference in the lives of everyone we support, we established the SHINE Fund. All funds are raised through ongoing fundraising activities such as our HICA Lottery, sponsored walks, various raffles, car boot sales and events like the upcoming Tour De HICA.  Additionally, many staff members raise money for the SHINE Fund independently by running ultra-marathons, organising bake sales, or even having full body waxes!
The ethos of fundraising for SHINE is to make a positive impact on the lives of our service users. It’s about providing them with the tools and experiences they need to live life to the fullest, despite any limitations they may face. Fundraising also fosters a sense of community and involvement among the wider community, bringing people together to support the services and their service users.
Ultimately, the philosophy of SHINE fundraising is grounded in the belief that every person deserves to live a fulfilling and enjoyable life. By the generosity and support of the wider community, care homes can provide residents with specialised equipment and experiences to thrive and create a warm and welcoming environment where they can truly feel at
