Elm Tree Court create sensory room
This year at Elm Tree Court staff have created several innovative rooms to enable them to ‘bring the outside in’ One of the rooms they have created is a sensory room which features colour changing bubble tubes, fibre-optic lighting, musical instruments, aroma diffuser, virtual fish tank and soon to be added is their Tovertafel table, an interactive piece of equipment that lets the resident interact with projected images. The room has been created to form an environment which can enable residents to relax, engage and encourage communication.
A staff member from Elm Tree court said ‘We have worked together to overcome the challenges that this year has thrown at us. Whilst this year has had its difficulties, we haven’t let that stop us providing our high standard of care whilst also making sure that Elm tree Court continues to feel like a home and a family. This Sensory environment is just one of many ways we are working to enhance the lives of our residents’
