Residents and staff at Cranwell Court have been reminiscing about cherished memories and decided to write this beautiful poem together about all their special moments and memories.
Precious times
The little birds sing in a majestical way
What a beautiful sound to start the day
I hear the dawn chorus as I open my eyes
It’s like time stood still, not years gone by
I think back on life as I lay in my bed
Happy occasions toss in my head
With a smile on my face, I rewind the clock
With treasure moments I start to unlock
Anniversaries, birthdays and family ‘do’s’
A pretty new dress with matching shoes
Music, dancing and having fun
Babycham cocktails or a tot of rum
Ballroom dancing in a club
Nights at the pictures or a drink in the pub
Young, goodlooking, and fancy free
Finding ‘the one’ that will suit me
Embracing each other as we fall in love
The light of the moon and the stars above
The first time we kissed under the lamp on the street
The exciting feeling as our lips meet
Drawing love hearts in the sand
Love, romance as we walk hand in hand
Cuddled together with fish & chips
We hear rolling waves & passing ships
He proposed to me with a diamond ring
A lifetime together, a wonderful thing
We walk down the aisle, he swept me away
Our first dance, our wedding day
A birth of a child, my baby i meet
A magical moment, a wonderful feat
Ten little fingers & ten little toes
A curly quiff and a button nose
But what do we name them its so hard to pick
Susan, debra, andrew, or mick
I like so many, we’ll have to have more
A house, a dog, a family of four
The wind in our hair as we walk in the park
The children playing, i hear a dog bark
Feeding the ducks with crumbled bread
Trees and flowers lay up ahead
Wintertime doesn’t get much better
When your child ‘believes’ and writes a letter
To santa clause who comes on his sleigh
The toys he brings on christmas day
Days out, holidays and places we went
The miles we travelled for a special event
Beautiful views with mountains high
Sunshine, rainbows, and a clear blue sky
A good book, a movie and time together
Happy, content and love forever
A smiling face with laughter lines
Cherished memories and precious times
