The Tour De HICA is Back!

On Thursday 8th September The HICA Group will be holding its second Tour De HICA fundraising event to raise money for the company’s SHINE Fund, from which all funds go toward activities and equipment that can truly enhance our service users lives. The event will run for 24 continuous hours from 12 noon on the 8th until 12 noon the following day. Last time the 24 hour event raised in excess of £1600, using three exercise bikes reaching 1200 miles in the 24 hour time frame with staff, HICA service users family, friends and special guests all taking part in the marathon. This time we are trying to reach 1750 miles, which is enough to take us virtually from Lands End to John O’Groats and back. The event is based at our Head Office at Hesslewood Country Business Park and we encourage all staff, friends and family, as well as trade partners, to come along and help us reach our target. To help us reach this higher target we have added a rowing machine, cross trainer and treadmill to the equipment. Throughout each year we arrange a number of initiatives throughout our services under the SHINE banner. These include events such as our HICA in Bloom competition and our Annual Ball, both of which are eagerly anticipated parts of HICA life. All of these exist as part of our SHINE ideology of truly making a difference to the lives of the people we support.
