Mince Pie Competition Results

The HICA Mince Pie competition has now ended and we are delighted to announce the top four winners. The competition was open to all HICA services and their trade partners and care home food specialist apetito kindly donated some hampers for the prizes.

The first round of judging chose  recipes that the judges felt had the necessary ingredients to make a classic mince pie. After a great deal of deliberation the judges agreed on Overton House, Riverside Grange and Wilton Lodge as the entrants who made it through to the final round.

Board member Jackie Bateman kindly agreed to be part of the final round judging panel and was joined by mark Midgely from apetito, Executive P.A. Julia Woodcock and Marketing and Communications Coordinator Cameron Innes. All judges thoroughly enjoyed their task of tasting the mince pies, and although the decision was difficult they finally agreed on the winner. The final placings were:

4th Place – The Anchorage

3rd Place – Prospect House

2nd Place – The Birches

1st Place  – Raleigh Court

We would like to thank everybody who took part in the competition and to apetito for supplying the prizes and helping us judge the competition.
