HICA Group Appoints FD In Preparation For Major Expansion
The Hull-based independent care provider the HICA Group has appointed Matthew Rockett to the newly-created position of Finance Director as the Group gears itself up for a programme of expansion that is set to create 2,000 new jobs in the next five years and will more than double turnover from its current figure of £31 million.
Chief Executive Andrew Stow said: “The Group will be significantly expanding its Care Homes and Homecare operations to meet the demands created by an increasingly ageing population, a reduction in support from the State and the growing need for more dementia care facilities. There will be a greater emphasis on supporting people, whether it is in their own homes, in a care home or in a specialist facility. This expansion will come through our own ventures and also through working with other organisations in strategic partnerships.”
Mr Stow said HICA would also be increasing its geographical spread from its current locations in the North West, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
The Group currently employs 2,138 staff who meet the needs of approximately 2,500 people in its Care Homes, Homecare and Lifestyle Village operations.
Mr Stow said: “Matthew Rockett’s appointment, together with earlier senior management team appointments, provides the Group with a very experienced management team which will be instrumental in supporting the on-going development and growth of HICA.”
Mr Rockett has joined HICA after five years with Aghoco 1022 Ltd, the holding company of the Beverley-based Chem-Dry Group. He qualified as an accountant in 2000 with PricewaterhouseCoopers and later became Financial Accountant with Smith and Nephew in Hull and Group Accountant with the AIM-listed company, Advanced Fluid Connections PLC.
