It’s Official – HICA’s Care Homes Are Amongst The Best In The UK
If you or a relative are looking to move into a care home you need to know you will be getting the best possible care – so make sure you get some independent, unbiased feedback.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspect all registered care homes in the UK and rate them as being either poor, adequate, good or excellent. So how have HICA’s 26 care homes in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire fared? This not-for-profit organisation is delighted to report that all have been rated good or excellent.
HICA Group Chief Executive Andrew Stow said: “HICA has become one of only a few medium to large care providers in the UK to have achieved this 100 per cent rating. The 100 per cent success also applies to our Homecare branches, who look after people in their own homes.”
HICA provides care to some of the most vulnerable people in society – people who have dementia, learning disabilities, challenging physical or behavioural needs, or those who are vulnerable due to their social or economic background.
“In all cases we want to ensure that our residents receive the highest level of care and that is why HICA continues to make significant investments in our people and facilities,” said Mr Stow.
“We invest in our people through on-going training to ensure that they make a difference to our residents’ lives. For example, every member of staff in a HICA care home – from the chef to the manager – has received nationally-recognised, one-to-one training in dementia care. We are also investing approximately £1.5 million each year in our care homes to ensure that residents have the best possible facilities.”
HICA care homes offer a wide range of activities and services to promote health, well-being, independence and a good quality of life. Activities include arts and crafts groups, theme and film nights, and outings.
